Range of stationery inspired by the Rhododendron jacksonii.
The plant hunter George Forrest was overwhelmed by the beauty and variety of the rhododendrons which clad the slopes of the Himalayas. Forrest brought back over 300 varieties from his travels, more than doubling the number of species known at the time. To this day, RBGE botanists are still exploring this huge genus of over 3,000 species and making new discoveries.
RBGE is fortunate in having four gardens with very different climates in which to develop its rhododendron collections. The hardiest species thrive at Dawyck and large numbers are at home at wooded, mountainous Benmore. |
